The tourist attractions in Bacolod (also known as the City of Smiles) have played a pivotal role in the economic boom and prosperity that the city and province is undergoing. For those who have yet to venture to this part of the Philippines, here are some of the places and events that you will see.

Of course, even those who have never been here are well aware of the famous Masskara Festival, which is without question the main draw of the city. Those who want to go nature trekking can head up to Patag Valley. Nearly 650 ft above the sea, it is in the midst of opulent natural landscapes and settings, making it one of the finest nature trails in Negros. It is also right beside Mount Silay where mountain climbers can give it a go.

Historical landmarks are among the other tourist attractions in Bacolod. About 14 miles from Bacolod is Magalona where some of the revolutionary markers commemorating the valiant battles the Filipinos fought against the Americans and Spaniards. Other historical sites that have become sightseeing attractions in the city include the Talisay Church which was constructed sometime in the early 1900s.

For a more relaxing time, you can visit the Mambukal Resort where you can sit back and enjoy the scenic views or head up to Mount Kanlaon. There is also the Bacolod Golf and Country Club, where lovers of the game can work on their swing.
